The Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Design Area at ISU is comprised of one of the largest group of faculty members at any university that are focusing specifically on analog and mixed-signal VLSI design. These faculty members bring extensive academic experience, broad industrial experience, and continued professional interactions into a center that relies heavily on industrial direction and support. What is Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI Design? Very Large Scale Integration is the integration of thousands of transistors in a single chip. Mixed-Signal VLSI Design is the design of both analog and mixed-signal circuits on the same chip.
The mission of the group is to provide an outstanding educational experience for students at both the MS and Ph.D. levels, to conduct research that will advance the state of the art in the field, to promote industrial interactions and codevelopment, to promote extended learning opportunities for off-campus students, and to provide substantive exposure to undergraduate students to analog and mixed-signal design issues.
Iowa State University is committed to providing an outstanding educational and research opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students interested in studying analog and mixed-signal VLSI design. Broad course offerings, a stimulating research environment and a commitment to excellence in both the teaching and research programs are inherent to the mission of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Iowa State University.
